Bells-only alarm

Bells-only alarm, otherwise known as audible-only alarm, is a burglar alarm which makes only audible noise from the external and or internal sounders when the alarm is triggered. The bells-only alarm may deter intruders and alert the neighbours when the alarm activates but on its own will not generate a police response or notify you through a dialler that the alarm has been activated.

Monitored alarm

A burglar alarm is monitored when the alarm system is connected via telephone line or radio network or both to a remote central station known as alarm receiving centre (ARC). The ARC monitors the alarm signals from the protected premises 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and alert the key holders and or the Police as neccessary.

Monitored alarms will incur monthly or annual service charges in addition to the installation costs of an alarm system. Our combined monitoring and maintenance service charge starts from £20 p/m.

Personal attack alarm

Personal attack alarm is sometime referred to as Panic attack alarm. The alarm can be invaluable in summoning help when you are attached or feel threatened by an intruder or a stranger in your home or at your business.

Personal attack alarm can be integrated in to the burglar alarm and may be connected to an Alarm Receiving Centre for Police response in the event of an emergency.

Speech & Text Dialler

Intruder alarms may be connected to a speech and text dialler which enables the alarm system to send voice messages or text messages to a combination of telephone numbers (including mobile phones) in the event of alarm activation. The speech dialler may be stand alone or integrated into the intruder alarm control panel.

Speech diallers may allow for external communication by the alarm system, inwards also, for example, you can recieve an alert through your speech dialler that an alarm has been actiavated, you can then dial in remotely using your phone and listed in to your home or office through an integrated mic within the dialler, some diallers also allow you to take advantage of a loudspeaker function and speak to someone within the vicinity of the dialler, like a normal two way telephone conversation, however they do not make the burglar alarm qualify for police response automatically.

In order to get police response on confirmed alarm activation and for peace of mind security, a monitored burglar alarm (ACPO Policy Document DD243:2004 Compliant) must be installed.
